Use micro carbide drill bits for PCB component holes, vias, prototype boards, and precision small-hole drilling.

Use solid carbide pyramid engravers for PCB isolation milling—the shallow removal of copper around traces and pads to electrically separate circuit conductors. The 30° pyramid engraver is well suited for fine traces, closely spaced pads, and narrow isolation grooves, while the 60° pyramid engraver produces wider isolation channels and provides a more general-purpose engraving angle.

Use PCB routers for board outlines, slots, cutouts, and fiberglass laminate routing. Diamond-flute PCB router bits and chip-breaker routers are both common choices for PCB and composite laminates.
