This 0.0472" (1.20mm / 3/64") chip breaker carbide router features a .256" length of cut (LOC), 1-1/2" overall length, 1/8" shank, and a fish tail tip. Designed for precision routing of printed circuit boards and abrasive sheet materials, it is well suited for FR-4, G10, fiberglass, phenolic laminates, carbon fiber, and other reinforced composites.
The chip breaker up-cut geometry combines an aggressive cutting action with ample flute space for efficient chip and swarf removal. This helps clear debris from the cutting path, reduce clogging, and maintain consistent cutting performance in abrasive laminate and composite materials.
The fish tail tip provides end-cutting capability while helping reduce backside breakout and splintering as the router exits through sheet material. This makes it particularly useful for PCB depaneling, cutouts, slots, internal contours, and through-routing where edge quality on the underside of the material is important.
Kyocera's chip breaker up-cut router geometry is designed to provide a clean edge finish on both internal and external cuts. The upward cutting action also helps move chips and routing debris away from the cutting area during machining.
