This Kyocera 1.30mm (.0512") chip breaker carbide PCB router features a .260" (approximately 6.60mm) length of cut, drill-point tip, up-cut spiral, 1/8" shank, and 1.50" overall length. Manufactured from solid tungsten carbide, it is designed for precision routing of FR-4, G10, fiberglass, phenolic laminates, and other rigid composite materials.
The spiral chip breaker geometry uses interrupted cutting edges to break chips into smaller fragments during machining. Combined with the up-cut design, this helps improve chip evacuation and reduce debris accumulation when routing abrasive PCB materials.
Chip Breaker Geometry and Drill-Point Tip
- Spiral chip breaker: Helps control chip formation and promote efficient debris removal.
- Up-cut spiral: Directs chips upward and away from the cutting zone.
- Drill-point tip: Provides pointed entry geometry for controlled plunge operations using appropriate cutting parameters.
- .260" LOC: Provides cutting reach for PCB profiling, slots, and routing suitably supported composite materials.
- Solid carbide: Provides rigidity and wear resistance for precision machining.
The drill-point configuration is useful where controlled entry into the workpiece is required. Use appropriate plunge feeds, rigid workholding, and minimal tool runout to help prevent cutter damage.

Typical Applications
- PCB outline routing and circuit board profiling
- FR-4 and G10 fiberglass laminates
- Phenolic laminate cutting
- Slots and internal PCB contours
- Precision routing of rigid composite materials
- Controlled plunge-entry applications
Carbon fiber and highly abrasive materials: Extended machining of abrasive composites can accelerate wear on uncoated carbide. For demanding production applications, consider a compatible diamond-coated router.
