Kyocera 1.90mm Diamond-Flute PCB Router | .300" LOC | Fish Tail | Up-Cut
The R136 Kyocera solid carbide diamond-flute router features a 0.0748" (1.90mm nominal) cutting diameter, 0.300" (7.62mm) length of cut, 1.500" overall length, and 1/8" (3.175mm) shank. This precision PCB router is designed for routing FR4/G10 fiberglass laminates, phenolic materials, and other abrasive composites.
Its diamond-pattern cutting geometry features numerous small, intersecting cutting edges for controlled material removal. The fishtail tip provides end-cutting capability, while the up-cut configuration helps direct cutting debris upward during routing.
Key Features
- 0.0748" (1.90mm) cutting diameter: Precision cutting width for PCB outlines, slots, profiles, and internal cutouts
- 0.300" LOC: Provides 7.62mm of cutting reach for suitable fiberglass laminates and composite sheets
- Diamond-flute geometry: Multiple intersecting cutting edges help control fraying, fiber pull-out, and chipping under appropriate cutting conditions
- Fish tail tip: End-cutting geometry supports entry and through-routing in suitable sheet materials
- Up-cut configuration: Helps evacuate routing debris upward
- Solid tungsten carbide: Provides rigidity and resistance to abrasive wear
- 1/8" shank: Fits compatible precision CNC spindle collets and tool holders
Diamond-Flute Geometry & Fish Tail Tip
Diamond-flute routers, also called diamond-cut or diamond-pattern routers, use numerous small, intersecting cutting edges rather than conventional continuous spiral flutes. This geometry is commonly used for machining abrasive and layered materials such as FR4 circuit boards, G10 fiberglass laminates, and reinforced composites.
The fishtail tip provides cutting edges at the tool end for suitable entry and through-routing applications. Proper cutting conditions and secure workholding help control edge damage, fiber breakout, and tool wear.
The up-cut configuration directs cutting debris upward. Actual edge quality depends on material, feed rate, spindle speed, tool condition, and workholding.
0.300" Cutting Length
R136 provides 0.300" (7.62mm) of cutting length, offering reach for profiling and routing suitable thicker PCB laminates and composite sheets.
Select a cutting length appropriate for the workpiece thickness and provide clearance beneath the material when through-cutting. Use appropriate cutting loads and avoid excessive side pressure to limit tool deflection.
Material note: Diamond-flute refers to the cutting-edge geometry. This tool is solid tungsten carbide, not diamond-coated or PCD tooling.
Typical Applications
- PCB board outlines, profiling, slots, and internal cutouts
- FR4 and G10 fiberglass laminate routing
- Phenolic and epoxy laminate cutting
- Fiberglass-reinforced composite trimming
- Carbon-fiber composites where uncoated carbide tooling is appropriate
- Precision CNC routing, prototyping, and small-part fabrication

Feeds & Speeds
Correct spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut, and secure workholding are important when routing abrasive PCB laminates with solid carbide tools.
View Carbide Router Feed & Speed Charts and select the Diamond-Flute Router Chart for starting recommendations for FR4, G10, fiberglass, and related materials.
Recommended cutting conditions are starting points only. Adjust for material, spindle capability, machine rigidity, tool condition, and cutting depth. Use appropriate dust extraction when machining fiberglass or carbon fiber.
