These solid carbide grout removal bit packs are designed for controlled removal of old or damaged grout between wall and floor tiles. They fit Dremel® and similar rotary tools that accept standard 1/8" shank accessories.

Choose the grout-bit diameter and pack quantity you need:

  • Available sizes: 1/16", 3/32", or 1/8"
  • Pack quantities: 5-pack or 10-pack
  • Shank diameter: 1/8" (3.175mm)
  • Construction: Solid carbide
  • Made in USA

The displayed price is for the complete selected pack. Selecting 5 Pack means you will receive five identical grout removal bits in the selected diameter. Selecting 10 Pack means you will receive ten identical grout removal bits in the selected diameter.

Choose the Right Grout Removal Bit Size

Choose a bit slightly narrower than the grout joint. If you are uncertain, begin with the smaller size. You can widen the joint gradually, but starting with a bit that is too large increases the chance of contacting the tile edges.

Grout removal bit size and specification comparison for 1/16 inch, 3/32 inch, and 1/8 inch bits
  • 1/16": Best for narrow grout joints, fine lines, and careful detail work; .315" depth of cut
  • 3/32": A versatile size for standard grout joints and general-purpose removal; .400" depth of cut
  • 1/8": Best for wider grout joints and faster material removal; .475" depth of cut
  • All sizes: 1/8" shank and 1-1/2" overall length

Tool and Guide Compatibility

  • Fits: Dremel® and similar rotary tools that accept 1/8" shank accessories
  • Works with: Dremel 565 and Dremel 566 cutting guides
  • Not compatible with: Dremel 568-01 grout removal attachment
  • Not included: Rotary tool and cutting guide are sold separately

Recommended Uses

  • Removing old or damaged grout between tiles
  • Preparing grout joints before re-grouting
  • Wall and floor tile grout removal
  • Controlled repair and cleanup work
  • Removing cement-based grout and light mortar residue

Important: These are grout removal bits, not masonry drill bits. They are designed for removing grout between tiles. They are not intended for drilling holes through tile or cutting large areas of ceramic, porcelain, or stone tile.

Why Solid Carbide?

  • Excellent wear resistance in abrasive grout and cement-based materials
  • Controlled cutting in narrow tile joints
  • Longer-lasting cutting edges than many softer steel accessories
  • Useful for repair work where only selected grout areas need to be removed

Tips for Best Results

  • Use light pressure and allow the carbide bit to do the cutting
  • Begin at a moderate rotary-tool speed and increase only as needed
  • Make a shallow first pass, then deepen the cut gradually
  • Keep the rotary tool moving to reduce heat buildup
  • Use extra care near tile edges
  • Vacuum loosened grout and dust frequently for better visibility
  • Use a compatible cutting guide when possible for improved control

Safety Information

Grout removal can create dust and flying particles. Always wear suitable personal protective equipment, including safety glasses or goggles and a dust mask or respirator suitable for fine dust. Hearing protection and suitable gloves are also recommended when operating a rotary tool.

Work in a well-ventilated area, vacuum dust frequently, and follow the safety instructions supplied with your rotary tool and cutting guide. Grout, mortar, cement board, ceramic tile, porcelain, and related materials may contain or release fine silica-containing dust when cut, ground, or abraded.
