This precision-ground engraving tool features three cutting faces that form a sharp, reinforced pyramid-style point. Why choose a 30° pyramid engraver?
The narrow 30° included angle is well suited for applications requiring fine detail and narrow engraving grooves. It is particularly useful for PCB trace isolation, tightly spaced pads, micro lettering, technical marking, and other precision engraving work where line width and detail are important.

Compared with a wider-angle engraver, the 30° geometry produces less increase in groove width as cutting depth changes. For general-purpose engraving, wider isolation channels, bold lettering, or light chamfering, consider the 60° PE60 Pyramid Engraver.

PCB Isolation Milling

This 30° pyramid engraver can be used to remove a narrow channel of copper around PCB traces and pads. Its narrow included angle makes it especially suitable for fine traces, closely spaced pads, and detailed circuit-board layouts.

The finished isolation width depends on the cutting depth, actual tip geometry, spindle runout, and board flatness. For best results, begin with a shallow test cut and adjust the engraving depth or effective tool diameter in your CAM software.

Accurate Z-height control, secure board mounting, and surface probing or height mapping are recommended when available.

Note: This engraver is intended for copper trace isolation. Separate PCB drills and routing tools should be used for component holes, slots, and cutting the board outline.
